YNW Melly Is A FREE Man! Mistrial Declared in Double Murder Case!

The years-long double murder case involving rapper YNW Melly has ended with a mistrial. The jury, unable to reach a unanimous decision, delivered the verdict after starting deliberations on Thursday and reaffirming their stance on a weekend. The case, considered one of the wildest in hip-hop history, involved Melly and his co-defendant, YNW Bortlen, being accused of the October 2018 killings of their friends Christopher “Juvy” Thomas Jr. and Anthony “Sakchaser” Williams in South Florida.

According to investigators, YNW Melly and YNW Bortlen were alleged to have fatally shot their friends in the back of a Jeep Compass and staged the scene to resemble a drive-by shooting. The killings were described as gruesome and alleged to have been carried out in cold blood, leading to high-stakes consequences for the accused.

Melly had been behind bars since February 2019, facing the death penalty while awaiting trial. Despite the legal battle, his rap career thrived as fans faithfully streamed his music, earning him an impressive ten platinum and gold plaques in his discography.

A Free Man, For Now: With the declaration of a mistrial, YNW Melly is currently a free man. However, the possibility of facing another trial looms as prosecutors retain the option to pursue the case again. The future remains uncertain as the state’s decision is awaited.
