Sexyy Red Tops Billboard & TikTok’s New Top 50 Chart

Emerging artist Sexyy Red has made history by becoming the first artist to top the newly launched Billboard and TikTok joint chart, the “TikTok Billboard Top 50.” This chart is designed to reflect the most viewed singles across the United States on the popular social media platform TikTok.

Sexyy Red’s song “SkeeYee” secured the top spot on the inaugural TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart for the week of September 11–17. Right behind her were notable tracks, including Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” and Taylor Swift’s “August.”

As TikTok continues to play a significant role in music promotion and consumption, Billboard’s collaboration with the platform aims to provide a weekly ranking of the most popular songs on TikTok.

In other news, Sexyy Red released a statement regarding a recent shooting incident that occurred near the location of her music video shoot. The shooting took place near the Oakland Park Flea Market Mall in Florida, resulting in one fatality and another person injured. Sexyy Red clarified that the shooting did not happen on her video set but at a nearby gas station. She expressed her condolences to the victims’ families and confirmed that everyone from her video set returned home safely, emphasizing the importance of safety measures during the shoot.

Sexyy Red’s achievement on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart solidifies her presence as a rising star in the music industry and underscores the impact of TikTok on contemporary music promotion.
